Palladium Prints to be in Art Intersection No Strangers Show
Sunday, September 4, 2016
Friday, August 12, 2016
The Show has a Poster and an Opening Date: September 3rd rather than the 2nd.
Here's the poster for the new show, which is now entitled "Persons and Places." The opening will be on September 3rd, which is a Saturday, at 6:30 pm. ("First Friday" is now "First Saturday" so far as Art Walks are concerned.)
The title gives the theme explicitly: portraits of persons in distant places, together with commanding near-by places.
Some are from a recent trip to Nepal, but there will be at least one from South East Asia, and more than one from the Netherlands.

New Show Up This September!
My Epson Stylus Pro has recovered from a near-fatal illness (I'm very happy to report), so I've been printing 16x20's of selected photos from Nepal and and other parts of the world for a new show at the Claremont Forum Bookstore in the Packing House during the month of September. I haven't settled on a title as yet, but the theme is "People and Places." Among the candidates for the Bookstore wall-space are some dramatic images of Everest and other peaks near by, some people we met on our Nepal trek, and some shots of Hadrian's Wall at Housesteads, where it's possible to see it almost as it was then, 2,000 years ago, and some other shots from recent travels. If my printer continues its good health, I'll also add some Palladium Prints as well.
The opening of the show will be during First Saturday Art Walk in Claremont, September 3rd at 6:30 pm. Look for more information on this blog soon, but pencil in the opening on your calendars. That's September 3rd at 6:30 in the Bookstore in Claremont's Packing House on First Street west of Indian Hill.
[Note: What used to be "First Friday" in Claremont is now "First Saturday." All Art Walks (and monthly openings) happen a day later.]

Near Everest
There's quite a bit of color in the Himalayan range. My interest is in a high contrast black and white palladium print from these images. But one has to remain in awe of the color possibilities as well.
Palladium Candidates: Everest
That's Everest on the left. This was taken from a plane that approached within about five miles of this famous peak.
